Group X Class Descriptions

HIIT (Mondays 12:00 – 12:30 PM) - Get ready to strengthen your body from head to toe using a combination of traditional strength training techniques and cardiovascular exercises. A variety of exercise equipment will be used with emphasis placed on proper form and technique.

Yoga (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:15-1:00 PM) - This class connects mind, body and breath, bringing awareness to the natural flow and rhythm of life. A typical flow practice includes various Sun salutations and poses, with modifications appropriate to the level of the class. This practice will take participants through poses, challenging coordination between movement and breath.

TRX (Wednesdays, 12:00 – 12:30 PM) - (Space is limited. Come early and grab your spot.) - The TRX suspension trainer is a powerful piece of equipment that makes “your body the machine.” The TRX improves mobility, flexibility, strength and endurance. Your core is constantly challenged, making it a full-body workout. The class will take place at the rig (Rogue Tower) in the fitness center.

Core and Stretch (Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:35-1:00 PM) - “Tighten your stomach!” or “Engage your core!” We hear it all the time, but what does it mean? Come and take a journey beyond the basic sit-up and discover a whole new approach to abdominal and overall core strength training. Learn to be efficient and make the most of your core workouts. (Think quality not quantity!) After working through some core exercises, we will move to self-myofascial release techniques (foam rolling, massage therapy balls) and/or static stretches, leaving your body relaxed and lengthened. (Limited mats available).
