Summertime is peak vacation time. And when you are on vacation you don’t want to necessarily throw out your fitness routines. There are ways to help you stay on track when you have limited if any, workout equipment. See below for tips on how to stay healthy while traveling.
Walk: Use the stairs at airports and hotels or walk around your destinations sightseeing. You’ll be amazed how much distance you can cover.
Bodyweight Workouts/Workout Apps: You can complete these in a hotel room, at a park, or anywhere you want. No fitness center or equipment is needed. Try exercises such as pushups, squats, lunges, jumping jacks, and planks. You can also stream your favorite no-equipment workouts—whether it’s kickboxing, HIIT workouts, or yoga.
Find Nearby Fitness Classes: Many hotels and cruises offer onsite fitness classes. You may also inquire about guest passes/free trials to local fitness centers.
Stay Hydrated: Being properly hydrated will prevent you from mindless snacking and overeating. This can be especially helpful should you not have the most nutritious options available.
Prioritize Sleep: Sleep is the most important element of physical and mental health, so prioritizing it is the best way to maximize your on-the-road training.
