Manage Your Stress Levels this Black Friday

With stress levels soaring during the pandemic, the health and wellness industry has shifted their focus to a more forgiving approach. Give yourself a break! With all the disappointment that comes with holiday traditions and parties being canceled, the fitness industry wants you to be kinder and gentler to yourselves.

Do your best to get in some physical activity each day. Even if it is 10-20-minute bursts of activity, something is better than nothing. Although fitness is a key component to our overall health; managing stress, getting enough sleep, and eating well are also key components.

  • MEDITATION & BREATH – Try a few minutes a day to clear your mind. Perform deep cleansing breaths utilizing meditation apps if needed (such as Calm) or listen to calming music and/or sounds that can help clear the mind.
  • BE CREATIVE WITH 10-20-MINUTE BURSTS - Even 10-20-minute bursts of exercise throughout the day can help. For example, a walk around the block with your dog or a family member can help put a pep in your step!
  • TRY YOGA – If your high-intensity workout routine is too much stress for your body to handle at the moment, try stepping away to give your mind and body a break with yoga.
