Meal prep. What is it?

What is it?

Meal prepping is the concept of preparing whole meals or dishes ahead of schedule, such as planning your meals for the week so that you have all the ingredients you need to quickly throw together.

Quick ideas and tips:

    • Write down what you need to buy for your meals (Try the NOTES App on your phone).
    • “Bowls” can be thrown together for a healthy, filling, nutritious meal.
    • Balance it with protein, vegetables, and whole grains.
    • Organize and label your fridge so it is easy to spot.
    • Beans, legumes and whole grains can be cooked in batches on the weekends.
    • Eat more colorful and bright vegetables, don’t be afraid of frozen veggies.
    • Hummus can be a great addition to any bowl.
    • Using your Instant Pot can help speed up the “prep” process.
    • It’s all about convenience – so don’t be scared to use the pre-washed, chopped salad mixes and greens, and veggies.
