The Heat is On. Is Your Sunscreen?

Avoid being beat by the summer heat.

Whether you’re heading out of town on vacation, to the local swimming spot or on a great outdoor hike, keep these essential items close at hand to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for you and yours.

  • Sunscreen and sources of shade: Water-resistant and broad-spectrum sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, umbrellas, and other accessories that help guard your skin from harsh UV rays.
  • Water: Consider carrying a gallon per person or more if you’re physically active or in the heat.
  • Medical kit: Just a small kit can pack a punch if it’s packed right. Aloe gel, waterproof bandages, hand sanitizer, insect repellent and other essential items come in handy in case minor mishaps occur during outings.
  • Healthy and heat-friendly snacks: Bring fruit and other refreshing snacks in a cooler. Ensure food doesn’t sit out in the heat/sun too long.
