BaySport biometric screenings are performed under the direction of the BaySport Preventive Medical Group. They are designed to assess overall health risks and assist participants in the development of an effective risk reduction plan.

Screening components include:

  • Total Cholesterol - Fingerstick test with immediate results and recommendations (fasting not required).
  • Total and HDL - Fingerstick test with immediate results and recommendations (fasting not required).
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)Assesses whether your body weight is appropriate for your your height. It is a mathematical calculation: your weight (in kg) divided by your height (in meters) squared, Wt (kg)/Ht (m)2.
  • Complete Blood Lipid Panel - Fingerstick or veni-puncture options for Total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Triglycerides and Glucose (fasting required). Follow-up consultation is included.
  • Blood Pressure - A sphygmomanometer and stethoscope is used on the upper arm to determine systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
  • Health Risk Appraisal - An online health questionnaire that determines risk for diseases based on lifestyle habits and current biometric test results.
  • Health Consultation - One-on-one private consultation to review biometric test results and provide specific lifestyle recommendations in order minimize health risk factors and encourage participation in health improvement strategies.
  • Follow-up Coaching for High Risk Participants - for someone who may have biometric test results that are out of range or at high risk. The goal of this program is to address and then modify the individual's behavior to improve their health.
