Celebrate the Holidays Together While Staying Apart

Many have made the difficult choice this year not to gather with family for holiday traditions. Although this is a tough choice, many infectious disease experts agree that this is the best way to protect yourself and those you care about. Just because you are unable to gather in person does not mean you can't be there for one another in other ways. Below are some ways to celebrate together while staying apart.

  • Bake cookies for family members and place them on their doorstep or drop them in the mailbox.
  • Go for a walk with friends or family who live close by.
  • Decorate your Christmas tree with loved ones over Zoom.
  • Send flowers or hand written cards to those you would normally spend the holidays with.
  • Get connected and share photos, videos, and stories of past celebrations together. Have everyone go around and share their favorite holiday tradition.
  • Bake your favorite dish or baked good over Zoom with friends or family.
